Profiles
Players Profile (PP01)
This is the modern day players profile, offering a forgiving hitting zone with a substantial toe with a slight duckbill shape to balance the bat nicely in your hands. This is based on a profile the majority of professional cricketers are currently using.
The pressing offers large and sligtly rounded edges throughout the blade with a slight duck bill toe to promote a vastly superior pick up.
Weights start at 2lb 8oz (1130g) and go through to 3lbs (1360g). This bat is very well suited to all playing conditions where you need the power to hit over the top but also need good bat speed for the technical shots and good toe strength.
Special Profile
The most popular L&W shape. This profile is all about awesome weight distribution which allows for incredible bat-speed as well as a powerful hitting zone. This much loved shape is ideal for stroke players at the top of the order that need bat speed and balance to craft a long innings and put a high value on their wicket. The Willow that is sacrificed out of the shoulders provides an outstanding power to weight ratio and therefore we recommend this for most batsman (regardless of age) who need that faster bat speed. We tend to put the special profile in our youth ranges too as this profile also suits the smaller bat sizes. In youth bats the bat speed, size and weight are the most important features and this profile also then helps transition into the full size bat.
Some 1st Class players that buy our bats love the Special Profile as it gives great value for shots but is also very manageable with bat speed when facing fast bowling at that level.
The Special Profile can be made in any of our bat Grades. This example weighs 2lbs12ozs. The shape can be scaled to match weights from 2lbs5ozs upwards in a full size bat and from 1lb14 upwards in a youth bat.
Extended Profile
The Extended Profile is the ideal bat for the front foot dominant batsman who likes to get on the front foot early and dominate the bowler. The Extended profile is a variation on the more traditional Classic profile with the spine sweeping into the toe, larger edges and a more compact spine that allows for a wider sweet spot. This was the profile that lead to the modern shapes like MEGA and ULTRA, however it can be made at lighter weights and picks up better than those profiles.
The Extended Profile can be made in any of our bat Grades. This example weighs 2lbs 10ozs and the shape can be scaled to match weights from 2lbs 7ozs upwards.
Mega Profile
This profile is all about awesome weight distribution and a huge, powerful hitting zone. This much loved shape is ideal for super aggressive players looking for as much wood as possible in their blade. The MEGA profile will forgive miss timed shots, turning one bounce fours into sixes, putting the ball over the top of the infield rather than getting caught short.
The Mega Profile can be made in any of our bat Grades. This example weighs 2lbs 12ozs and the shape can be scaled to match weights from 2lbs 9ozs upwards.
Ultra Profile
The huge, modern shape. This physically imposing profile is ideal for big hitters who want maximum wood in their hitting zone. The huge edges and flat face are ideal for aggressive players looking to clear the boundary with ease. The ULTRA couples really well with our Carbo Cane handle and creates what is Laver & Woods most aggressive light weight set up.
The Ultra Profile is used in our Reserve Ultra and Special Reserve Ultra bat Grades. This example weighs 2lbs 11ozs and the shape can be scaled to match weights from 2ls 7ozs upwards.
Classic Profile
he long-standing, traditional shape. This profile benefits from a long, high spine which allows for a very large hitting zone. This time-honoured shape is ideal for touch players who love to place the ball through the gaps in the field.
The Classic Profile can be made in any of our bat Grades. This example weighs 2lbs 10ozs and the shape can be scaled to match weights from 2lbs 7ozs upwards.
